MEETING 19.05.22

The evening started with member Danny Wootton presenting a talk and images from his enviable trip to Skye and Harris, capturing well the varying weather, moods and colour palettes of the two islands.

Danny followed this up with his images of grasses, both realistic and interpretive, a challenging subject in the prevailing winds as anyone who has tried it quickly finds out!

Another member, Howard Morland, had set a challenge back in March to photograph St Peter's Church in Langley Burrell, a Grade 1 listed building so an important heritage site in that community. Those that tried the shoot had to overcome difficulties of low light and tricky compositions. A small selection of the many images taken is shown below.

The meeting finished with review of the images that had to be taken during the Easter Weekend. Those submitted covered supermarket marketing, Spring flower beauty, religious celebrations and that fun time, the Easter Egg hunt :)

MEETING 05.05.22

Following a busy two days over the May Bank Holiday presenting our Annual Exhibition, it was back to our usual Club night meeting with first member Ruth Baldwin presenting images from her trip around the West Coast of Scotland.

This was followed by our monthly challenge, and April images naturally included Spring flowers and landscapes getting greener, plus the odd surprise or two!

We were so lucky to have studio session earlier in the year with a member's friend, Lesley, who brought her harvest mice along. Phil and Philip helped with changes of vegetation and backgrounds - and containing the more adventurous of the mice! Julia and Amanda also set up some tabletop still life so that members could rotate between shooting mice and still life. We all took loads of images of the mice - cute is an inadequate word for this delightful subject!

ABOUT US

Lacock Positive, formed in 2009, is for anyone with a keen interest in photography irrespective of skill level and camera type.

The Club meets 7pm - 9pm fortnightly on Thursdays from September to June in the Manor Room, Lacock (adjacent to the Village Hall) for a varied programme of activities. We also arrange outside shoots throughout the year. In addition the Club holds an annual exhibition and manages its own Flickr and YouTube sites.

Lacock Positive is a friendly, non-competitive club and we are happy to help each other to fulfil personal photographic aspirations.
