2018 TRIBATTLE WINNERS!!

Lacock Positive (44 points) beat Corsham and Trowbridge clubs (38 points each) in a friendly battle on a hot Friday night in Corsham Town Hall.  Corsham provided splendid refreshments and a table full of raffle prizes too!

We scored 11 firsts: Phil S, David S, Sue P with 2 each and Philip M, Derek, Ros, Amanda and Ruth with 1 each.  The judge, Peter Crane, rounded off the evening by naming his top six favourite images from the event - David S came top and Phil S came 4th and 6th on his list! (images below)

Now we have to try and come up with some excellent images again to retain the cup in 2019!
Lacock Positive will be hosting the event during April 2019.

Challenges, Challenges!!

Members exercised both observation and creative skills for the two club challenges, Fungi and Eggs (our Easter challenge), which we reviewed at our last meeting.

Jean, our in-house mycological expert, told us what fungi we had managed to find and take images of - though we all understood those used in Bob B's image of his breakfast in the frying pan (not the one shown below)!!  A small selection of images follows:

As for Eggs, there were those who followed the healthy route but plenty whose images looked very calorific!  A small selection follows:

Next meeting:
At least 4 presentations by members -
North Wiltshire wildlife, Carnevale, Motorsport and a mystery!
Plus a review of 2 challenges -
Tree(s) and Slimbridge

A  photography trip around Great Britain!

Don Bishop started his very full presentation with images from the Isle of Harris and finished with some of the Isles of Scilly, via places in Scotland, Northumberland, the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, Wales and SW England.  Don has a great deal of patience - some images have taken 10 years for him to feel he has captured his vision!  Stunning landscapes were interspersed with pictures of trains with full heads of steam in spectacular locations.  Don also gave advice on how to create a successful landscape image, plus the use of filters and HDR along the way.  A good evening!
